KEO in conjunction with Turner Construction, provided Construction Management Services for the complete renovation of Shed #3. Scope of work for this 30,000sf warehouse space included new overhead doors, new roof and masonry restoration, new concrete flooring, all new electricals, the installation of new additional public restrooms and restoration to the original windows of the 1923 built structure

Upon completion of Shed 3, Keo worked on Shed 5. Shed 5 was the largest restoration and expansion at Eastern Market since it original construction. Work involved complete restoration of the shed to replicate Shed 3. Work included new heater concrete flooring throughout the facility, new doors and windows, along with a new community kitchen.

The project was awarded to the KEO/Turner Joint Venture who worked with the Owner to ensure usage of the space during the spring and Summer periods and most importantly Mother’s Day – the busiest day of the year for the market. Measures were taken to continue construction while at the same time ensuring pedestrian safety and accessibility.

The Shed 3 Renovation has received several awards including the Crew Detroit Impact Award, American Society of Civil Engineers Quality of Life Award and was CAM Featured Project of the Year.
